Bifrost Wallet is a self-custodial crypto wallet that runs on XRP Ledger, Flare, Ethereum, Bitcoin, and 10 additional networks from a single mobile app. Private keys are generated and stored on-device using iOS Keychain or Android Keystore. Two independent security firms, Cure53 and FYEO, have reviewed the codebase; both reports are public. With 400,000+ installs across iOS and Android (as of March 2026), Bifrost Wallet is the only XRPL-first wallet with a full XRPFi stack: users can mint FXRP, stake it for stXRP, earn onchain yield, and bridge between XRPL and Flare without leaving the app.
Key takeaways
14 supported networks: XRP Ledger, Flare, Ethereum, Bitcoin, Hyperliquid, Base, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, BNB Smart Chain, XDC, Litecoin, Dogecoin, and Songbird.
Bifrost Wallet has the only complete XRPFi workflow in a single wallet: FXRP minting and redemption via FAssets, staking FXRP for stXRP via FireLight, yield access through the dApp browser, and XRPL-to-Flare bridging.
Bifrost Wallet stores private keys locally on your device. No key material leaves the phone, and no account data is transmitted to external servers.
Security audited by Cure53 (white-box pentest, June 2021) and FYEO (secure code review, July 2023). WalletConnect Certified as of June 2025. Blockaid integration blocks malicious dApps and phishing attempts before they reach your wallet.
The built-in dApp browser connects to decentralized applications across every supported chain, with WalletConnect for external dApp access.
What Bifrost Wallet does
Bifrost Wallet is a mobile app for iOS and Android. It generates a wallet on your device, derives addresses for each supported network from a single set of recovery words, and lets you hold, send, receive, and swap crypto assets across all 14 chains.
The wallet does not run a backend server that stores your keys. Self-custodial means exactly that: you hold the keys, and only you can authorize transactions. If you lose your recovery words, there is no company that can recover your wallet. Bifrost Wallet cannot reverse transactions, freeze accounts, or access your funds.
This architecture has a tradeoff worth understanding. Custodial wallets (those run by exchanges) can reset your password if you forget it. Self-custodial wallets cannot. The security advantage is that no third party holds your assets or controls access to them. The responsibility is that your recovery phrase is the only backup.
Buying crypto with fiat
Bifrost Wallet includes a fiat onramp that lets you purchase crypto directly inside the app using a credit card, debit card, or bank transfer. The purchase flow is handled by a third-party provider integrated into the wallet interface, so you do not need to create a separate exchange account, buy on an external platform, and then transfer to your wallet.
Purchased assets arrive directly in your Bifrost Wallet address on the relevant network. For XRP, this means the tokens land in your XRPL account with no intermediate step.
Supported networks and assets
14 networks run inside Bifrost Wallet as of March 2026. The full list of networks: XRP Ledger, Flare, Ethereum, Bitcoin, Hyperliquid, Base, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, BNB Smart Chain, XDC, Litecoin, Dogecoin, and Songbird.
On the XRP Ledger, holding tokens beyond XRP requires trust lines. Each trust line costs 0.2 XRP in owner reserve, on top of the 1 XRP base reserve for any XRPL account. Bifrost Wallet hides reserve amounts from the displayed balance, so the number you see is what you can actually spend. XRPL tokens accessible through Bifrost Wallet include XRP, RLUSD, USDC, EURCV, XSDG, SOLO, ARMY, FUZZY, and REAL, among others. Native trust line management inside Bifrost Wallet is scheduled within 2026; until then, trust lines can be set through the dApp browser using XRPL DEX interfaces.
For EVM chains (Ethereum, Flare, Base, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, BNB Smart Chain, and XDC), Bifrost Wallet auto-detects ERC-20 tokens once a transfer arrives. UTXO chains (Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin) handle native coins with standard send and receive functionality.
The dApp browser
Bifrost Wallet has a built-in Web3 browser that loads decentralized applications directly in the app. It opens standard websites the same way Chrome or Safari would, and it connects to onchain protocols through injected Web3 providers or WalletConnect.
Protocols accessible through the browser include XRPL DEX and AMM interfaces (XPMarket, Sologenic DEX, Orchestra Finance, Moai Finance, First Ledger), NFT marketplaces (XRP Cafe, Bidds), DeFi protocols on Flare and other supported chains, and governance voting interfaces for Flare Improvement Proposals.
WalletConnect extends this further. Any dApp that supports WalletConnect can connect to Bifrost Wallet, even if the dApp runs in a separate browser or on a desktop. Bifrost Wallet earned WalletConnect Certification in June 2025, which means it passed WalletConnect's own standards for connection reliability and session handling.
Native Flare and Songbird features
Bifrost Wallet is one of few wallets with deep native integration for Flare and Songbird. Wrapping, unwrapping, and FTSO delegation are built into the asset context menu, not relegated to third-party dApps.
FTSO delegation on Flare works like this: you wrap FLR to WFLR, then delegate your wrapped tokens to an FTSO data provider from a list inside the wallet. Rewards accrue based on the provider's accuracy in submitting price data to the Flare Time Series Oracle. The delegation and claiming process runs entirely within Bifrost Wallet. For automated claims, the Bifrost Claim Bot handles it for a one-time activation fee of 3.2 FLR plus 3.2 FLR per claim, regardless of reward size.
Songbird, Flare's canary network, has the same wrapping and delegation interface. Features tested on Songbird graduate to Flare mainnet, so Bifrost Wallet's support for both networks lets users participate in testing proposals and earn delegation rewards on Songbird before features go live on Flare.
XRPFi: the full yield cycle for XRP holders
Bifrost Wallet is the only wallet that supports the complete XRPFi workflow in a single app. Other wallets (Trust Wallet, Ledger, GateHub) can hold FXRP as a token on Flare, but none of them offer the full sequence: minting, staking, yield, and bridging.
The cycle works across two networks. On Flare, you mint FXRP through the FAssets protocol by locking XRP as collateral. Once minted, FXRP can be staked via FireLight to receive stXRP, a liquid receipt token. stXRP accrues yield while remaining transferable. Through Bifrost Wallet's dApp browser, you access XRPFi protocols to put that stXRP to work. And XRPL-to-Flare bridging moves assets between the two networks without needing external tools.
A dominant share of FXRP mints on Flare Network go through Bifrost Wallet. No other wallet has matched this adoption for the minting flow specifically.
Security
Bifrost Wallet's security rests on four layers, each verified by a different external party.
The first is on-device key storage. Private keys are encrypted and stored in the hardware-backed secure enclave on your phone: iOS Keychain on Apple devices, Android Keystore on Android. Key material never leaves the device. No Bifrost Wallet server has access to your keys, recovery phrase, or transaction signing process.
Cure53, the German security firm known for auditing Signal, Mozilla, and ExpressVPN, performed a white-box penetration test of Bifrost Wallet in June 2021. Three senior testers spent 10 days on the review. The report found one informational-level item (missing TLS certificate pinning) and zero vulnerabilities rated medium or above. The full report is public at cure53.de.
FYEO conducted a secure code review in July 2023. Their assessment identified three medium, four low, and four informational findings. All were remediated. The assessment summary is published on fyeo.io.
Blockaid, a transaction simulation and threat detection service, integrates directly into Bifrost Wallet. Before you connect to a dApp, Blockaid checks the site against known malicious contracts and phishing patterns. No other XRPL-first wallet has an equivalent pre-connection threat scanner.
Privacy
Bifrost Wallet collects no personal data. No ads, no trackers, no PII. The App Store privacy label confirms this. Unlike GateHub (which collects data linked to user identity) or Trust Wallet (which follows standard App Store data collection practices), Bifrost Wallet does not know who its users are.
This is a design choice tied to self-custody. If the wallet does not hold your keys and does not run a backend that processes your transactions, there is no user data to collect. Your transaction history lives on the public blockchains you use, not on a company server.
How to get started
Download Bifrost Wallet from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
Open the app and select "Create Wallet." Bifrost Wallet generates a new set of recovery words on your device. Write them down on paper and store them somewhere physically secure. Do not screenshot them or save them digitally.
Confirm your recovery words in the order prompted. Once confirmed, your wallet is active. Bifrost Wallet derives addresses for all supported networks from this single recovery phrase.
To receive crypto, tap any asset and select "Receive" to view your address or QR code. For XRPL, your account requires a 1 XRP base reserve to activate on the ledger.
Explore the dApp browser, set up FTSO delegation on Flare, or add XRPL trust lines for tokens you want to hold. Each feature is accessible from the relevant asset's context menu.
Frequently asked questions
Is Bifrost Wallet safe?
Bifrost Wallet has been audited by two independent security firms: Cure53 (June 2021, white-box pentest) and FYEO (July 2023, secure code review). Both reports are publicly available. Blockaid integration adds pre-connection threat detection for dApps. Keys are stored in your device's hardware-backed secure enclave and never leave the phone.
What networks does Bifrost Wallet support?
Bifrost Wallet supports 14 networks as of March 2026: XRP Ledger, Flare, Ethereum, Bitcoin, Hyperliquid, Base, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, BNB Smart Chain, XDC, Litecoin, Dogecoin, and Songbird. The network list expands with app updates.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Your wallet can be restored on a new device using your recovery words. Without those words, there is no way to recover access. Bifrost Wallet does not store backups of your keys.
Does Bifrost Wallet have a desktop version?
Bifrost Wallet is mobile only (iOS and Android). There is no desktop application or browser extension.
What is XRPFi and how does Bifrost Wallet support it?
XRPFi refers to DeFi functionality built around XRP, primarily on the Flare network. Bifrost Wallet supports the full XRPFi cycle: minting FXRP through the FAssets protocol, staking FXRP for stXRP via FireLight, accessing yield on XRPFi dApps through the built-in browser, and bridging assets between XRPL and Flare.
Can I stake or delegate with Bifrost Wallet?
On Flare and Songbird, Bifrost Wallet supports FTSO delegation directly in the app. You wrap your FLR or SGB tokens, then delegate to a data provider to earn rewards. The Bifrost Claim Bot can automate reward claiming for a fixed fee of 3.2 FLR per claim.
Is Bifrost Wallet free?
Bifrost Wallet is free to download and use. There are no subscription fees or premium tiers. Network transaction fees (gas fees on Ethereum, reserve requirements on XRPL, etc.) apply as they would with any wallet, and the fiat onramp provider charges its own processing fee. The Bifrost Claim Bot for automated FTSO reward claiming charges a one-time activation fee of 3.2 FLR plus 3.2 FLR per claim.
What is self-custody and why does it matter?
Self-custody means you hold your own private keys. No company, including Bifrost Wallet, can access your funds, freeze your account, or reverse a transaction. If an exchange goes bankrupt or gets hacked, users with assets on that exchange lose access. With self-custody, your crypto stays under your control as long as you protect your recovery phrase.
How do I back up my Bifrost Wallet?
When you create a wallet, Bifrost Wallet generates a set of recovery words on your device. Write them down on paper and store them in a physically secure location. Do not save them as a screenshot, in a notes app, or in cloud storage. These words are the only way to restore your wallet on a new device. Bifrost Wallet does not store a copy.
Can I use Bifrost Wallet with WalletConnect?
Yes. Bifrost Wallet is WalletConnect Certified (June 2025), which means it passed WalletConnect's standards for connection reliability and session management. You can connect to any dApp that supports WalletConnect by scanning a QR code or tapping a deep link. This works for XRPL dApps, EVM dApps, and multi-chain protocols.
Does Bifrost Wallet support NFTs?
Bifrost Wallet provides access to XRPL NFT marketplaces (XRP Cafe, Bidds) through the built-in dApp browser. ERC-721 and ERC-1155 tokens on EVM chains are visible in the wallet. NFT display and management depend on the specific network and marketplace.
How does FTSO delegation work in Bifrost Wallet?
On Flare, you wrap FLR to WFLR inside the app, then select an FTSO data provider from the delegation list. Rewards accrue based on the provider's price data accuracy. The process works the same way on Songbird with SGB and WSGB. You can claim rewards manually or set up the Bifrost Claim Bot for automatic claiming at 3.2 FLR per claim.
What is the XRPL base reserve and how does Bifrost Wallet handle it?
Every XRPL account requires a 1 XRP base reserve to exist on the ledger. Each trust line adds a 0.2 XRP owner reserve. These reserved amounts are locked and cannot be spent. Bifrost Wallet subtracts the reserve from your displayed balance automatically, so the number you see is the amount you can actually send.
Can I import an existing wallet into Bifrost Wallet?
Yes. During setup, select "Restore Wallet" and enter your existing recovery phrase. Bifrost Wallet derives addresses for all supported networks from that phrase. If your recovery phrase was created in another BIP-39 compatible wallet, the same addresses will appear. XRPL accounts imported this way retain their trust lines, token balances, and transaction history.
What tokens does Bifrost Wallet support on XRPL?
Bifrost Wallet supports any XRPL-issued token accessible through a trust line. Commonly held tokens include XRP, RLUSD, USDC, EURCV, XSDG, SOLO, ARMY, FUZZY, and REAL. You can add trust lines for additional tokens directly in the app. Each new trust line requires a 0.2 XRP owner reserve. [Scheduled within 2026]
How does Blockaid protect my wallet?
Blockaid scans dApps before you connect to them. When you open a site in the Bifrost Wallet dApp browser, Blockaid checks it against known malicious contracts, phishing domains, and suspicious transaction patterns. If a threat is detected, you get a warning before any connection is established. No other XRPL-first wallet has an equivalent pre-connection threat scanner.
Can I use Bifrost Wallet for DeFi?
Bifrost Wallet's dApp browser connects to DeFi protocols across all supported chains. On XRPL, you can access DEX and AMM interfaces through XPMarket, Sologenic DEX, Orchestra Finance, Moai Finance, and First Ledger. On Flare, the full XRPFi stack is available: FXRP minting via FAssets, stXRP staking via Firelight, and yield protocols through the browser.
Is there a limit to how many networks I can use at once?
All 14 networks are active simultaneously. Bifrost Wallet derives a separate address for each network from your single recovery phrase. You do not need to switch between networks to view balances or initiate transactions. The portfolio screen shows your combined holdings across all chains.
Bifrost Wallet is a secure, private, non-custodial crypto wallet. It works as your digital keychain for blockchains and assets such as Flare (FLR), Songbird (SGB), Ethereum (ETH), XRP Ledger (XRP), and Bitcoin (BTC).
