How to use Bifrost Wallet on Bithomp

Bithomp is more than a transaction explorer. Connect Bifrost Wallet via WalletConnect and you can sign any XRPL on-ledger action directly from the app, from trust line setup to escrow management, with network fees under $0.01.

Connecting Bifrost Wallet to Bithomp turns the XRP Ledger explorer into a full account management interface. You can sign transactions, configure account flags, manage trust lines, and handle NFTs and escrows, all without leaving Bithomp.

Key takeaways

  • Bithomp is a full XRPL account management interface, not only a transaction explorer.

  • Bifrost Wallet connects to Bithomp via WalletConnect. No seed phrase is entered anywhere.

  • Once connected, you can sign any on-ledger transaction directly from the Bifrost Wallet app.

  • Account flag changes (like disabling incoming NFT offers) cost under $0.01 in network fees on XRPL.

  • The connection flow shown here is mobile. Desktop users can connect by scanning a WalletConnect QR code with the Bifrost Wallet app.

What you can do through Bithomp

Most users discover Bithomp as an address and transaction search tool. The account management side is separate. After connecting a wallet, you get access to the following:

  • NFTs: Mint, buy, sell, transfer, and burn NFTs. List NFTs for sale, modify NFT URIs (relevant for issuers), and set an NFT as your account avatar.

  • Account settings: Toggle account flags including Require Destination Tag, Deposit Authorization, payment channel permissions, trust line permissions, and incoming NFT offer permissions. Each flag change is a standard AccountSet transaction on XRPL.

  • Payments and tokens: Send XRP and issued tokens. Create and manage trust lines in both simple and advanced modes. Trust lines are the mechanism XRPL uses to authorize your account to hold any non-XRP token, so this is one of the more frequently used sections.

  • Checks and escrows: Issue and redeem checks. Create, execute, and cancel escrows for both XRP and tokens. Time-locked escrows in particular are useful for vesting arrangements and conditional payments.

  • Bithomp PRO: Purchase a PRO subscription to access tax reporting and advanced analytics.

All of these actions are available on both the desktop and mobile versions of Bithomp.

How to connect Bifrost Wallet to Bithomp

Step 1: Open Bithomp and tap Connect

Go to bithomp.com. Tap the menu icon in the top right corner, then tap Connect.

Step 2: Select WalletConnect and choose Bifrost Wallet

From the connection options, select WalletConnect. Bifrost Wallet appears in the wallet list. Selecting it redirects you to the Bifrost Wallet app, where a connection prompt appears showing the requesting domain (bithomp.com) and the XRPL address being used.

Bithomp displays a "Verified domain" label on this prompt. Bifrost Wallet performs pre-connection dApp checks via its Blockaid integration before the prompt appears.

Tap Connect to approve the session. Your wallet is now connected.

Step 3: Sign transactions from Bifrost Wallet

Every action you take on Bithomp that requires a signature (sending tokens, setting flags, creating escrows) pushes a transaction request to the Bifrost Wallet app. You review the transaction details, including the network fee, and tap Confirm to sign. The signed transaction broadcasts to the XRP Ledger directly.

XRPL network fees for most account operations are under $0.01. The AccountSet transaction in the example below cost 0.000013 XRP.

Example: Disabling incoming NFT offers

If you want to stop other accounts from sending you NFT offers, you can set the Incoming NFT Offers flag to Disallow. Here is how:

  1. Find the Incoming NFT Offers row. The current status shows as Allowed.

  2. Tap Disallow.

  3. Switch to the Bifrost Wallet app. A transaction request appears showing Set Flag 12 (the AccountSet flag number for this setting), the network, and the fee.

  4. Tap Confirm.

  5. Return to Bithomp. The flag status updates once the transaction confirms on-chain, typically within a few seconds on XRPL.

The same process applies to any other account flag listed on the settings page.

Troubleshooting

  • The connection prompt does not appear in Bifrost Wallet. Close and reopen the Bifrost Wallet app, then retry the WalletConnect flow on Bithomp. If the issue persists, disconnect any existing WalletConnect sessions from within Bifrost Wallet (Settings > Connected Apps) before reconnecting.

  • The transaction does not appear in Bifrost Wallet after tapping a Bithomp action. Wait 10-15 seconds. WalletConnect relays can occasionally delay the push. If nothing arrives, cancel the action on Bithomp and try again.

  • The flag status on Bithomp does not update. Refresh the page. Bithomp reads the current ledger state, so a manual refresh picks up the confirmed transaction.
